How Check-ly is designed and operated — transparent principles and user protections.

Last updated: May 26, 2026

Check-ly is an attendance operations service for organizations working across multiple worksites. Records are saved when a user taps check-in or check-out, and the signals the app evaluates on the device while the attendance screen is open are not sent to our servers. Prior OS-level consent is required, and location is not collected in the background.

What Check-ly is — and what it is not

  • ·Designed for: Attendance coordination across distributed teams — office, field, remote, and hybrid worksites.
  • ·Used for: Confirming a user is at a registered workplace at the moment of check-in or check-out.
  • ·Event-based: Records are saved only when the user taps check-in or check-out. Signals evaluated on the device while the screen is open are not transmitted, and there is no background capture.
  • ·Privacy-aware: Administrators do not have the ability to view real-time user location.
  • ·Purpose-limited: Data is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling, or sale to third parties.
  • ·It is not a workforce monitoring or location-tracking product.

How verification works

  • ✓The verification signals stored with a record are captured only at the moment of an explicit check-in or check-out action (event-based).
  • ✓Operates only with the user's explicit OS-level permission, which can be revoked at any time in device settings.
  • ✓Used solely to confirm the user is within a registered workplace radius at the time of the attendance event.
  • ✓Captured signals are stored alongside the corresponding attendance record and are not used for separate behavioural analysis.
  • ✓Data minimization — we capture only what is necessary for the attendance event.
